Creating a Learning Path: Viewing a Learning Path: Editing a Learning Path: Deleting a Learning Path:

A Learning Path is a group of related courses that can be assigned as a single unit, making it easier to manage and track. For example, when onboarding new hires, you might group mandatory courses such as sexual harassment, diversity and inclusion, and bystander awareness into one Learning Path, allowing you to assign and monitor them just like a single course.

Creating a Learning Path:

  • Go to the Team Dashboard.

  • Click Learning Paths from the dashboard menu.

  • Select the + Create New Learning Path button.

  • Enter a Title for the Learning Path.

  • Select Visible in Team if you would like the Learning Path to be visible to all Users in the Team.
    • If this box is left unchecked, Users won't be able to find the course themselves, but it can still be assigned by a Team Leader.
  • Click Sequential if you would like for courses to be taken in the order they appear in the Learning Path.
    • If this box is left unchecked, Users will be able to take the courses in the Learning Path in whatever order they choose.

  • The Image section allows you to add a course image; however, this step is optional.
  • Select + Add Course from the Courses section to add courses to this Learning Path.

  • On the Add Courses screen, search or scroll for the course(s) you would like to add to this Learning Path.
  • When you have selected a course(s) select the Submit button at the bottom of the screen.
  • This will add the course(s) to the Learning Path.

Please Note:

All Bigger Brains courses, custom courses built in CourseBuilder, and courses from Reseller Libraries can all be added to a Learning Path. Currently, courses within the Community Library or Microsoft Learn cannot be added to a Learning Path.

Please Note:

When searching for a specific course you must select Submit before returning to the main list of courses. If you search for a course, select it, and go back to the main list of courses, the selected course(s) will be de-selected. For reference, see the video below.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.

  • On the Create a New Learning Path screen, the selected courses are listed in the order they were added.
  • By clicking and dragging the drag handle icon, you can rearrange the order of the courses.

  • Once you are ready to publish the Learning Path, select Create.

  • You will receive a message saying your Learning Path has been added successfully.

Viewing a Learning Path:

  • Select View next to the Learning Path you would like to see.

  • This will open the Learning Path so you can preview it.
  • This is how it will appear when you assign it to a User.

Editing a Learning Path:

  • Select Edit next to the Learning Path you would like to edit.

  • From here, you can edit the following information:
    • Title
    • Visible in Team
    • Sequential
    • Cover Image
    • Courses

Please Note:

Before you edit the courses in a Learning Path, check which Users are assigned to it. Currently, any User who has already completed the Learning Path but remains assigned will have their Status reset to Incomplete after the edit.

  • When you are finished making edits, select Save Updates.

Deleting a Learning Path:

  • Select Delete next to the Learning Path you would like to remove.

  • A confirmation message verifying that you do want to delete the Learning Path will appear.
  • Select Yes.
