Setting Up the Microsoft Teams App
Learn how to easily install & set up the Microsoft Teams app to access the BrainStation Learning Portal.

The Bigger Brains eLearning app is free inside the Microsoft Teams app store. This app allows anyone to view Bigger Brains content inside Microsoft Teams.
Please Note:
Any User can add the Bigger Brains eLearning app, unless prevented by organization settings or policy. A User with Team Assistant or Team Leader access can also add the app for all Users in their organization.
Accessing Through the Left-side Rail:
Please Note:
Left-side rail access only works with Individual licenses. Corporate licenses must be accessed through a Tab.
- Select the three-dot icon from the left-side rail.
- Search and choose Bigger Brains eLearning from the apps menu.
- You can right-click the app and select Pin to make it always appear on the left-side rail.
- When accessed from the left-side rail, the Bigger Brains eLearning app shows two Tabs.

BrainStation:
- This includes all Bigger Brains courses and BrainStation features.

- This features instructions for using the app.

Accessing Through a Tab:
- In any Chat or Channel, add a new Tab by clicking the + icon.
- Search for Bigger Brains eLearning.
Please Note:
If you search for Bigger Brains eLearning, and nothing appears, go to the Microsoft Teams app store and make sure the app is installed.
Choosing the Right License:
After adding a Tab, you will be asked to choose from one of three license types. The app will check your Microsoft User ID and recommend a license type if it finds your account in our system.
- There are three license types to choose from.

Use a Free License:
- As the name implies, this license is free. Only a handful of sample courses are available with this license.

Use Individual Licenses:
- This choice uses the individual's Team ID (usually an email address), to verify their license within BrainStation.

Enter a New Corporate License ID:
- This choice will prompt for a Corporate license ID.

Please Note:
The choice between Individual or Corporate licenses depends on how you access Bigger Brains content. The app will check your User ID and automatically recommend a license type. For IT Service Providers who access Bigger Brains content via DeskDirector or CloudRadial, you will use the Corporate license option.

Use Individual Licenses:
- This is the correct license type for most Users, including those who receive Bigger Brains from an IT Service Provider. If, as an IT Service Provider, you have set up each client as a User in BrainStation, your clients will access the Teams app through this license. The system will check the Portal to validate their username.

Enter a New Corporate License ID:
- This is mainly used by those accessing our content in SCORM format. This license is used when Bigger Brains content is being used within a LMS that is not BrainStation. To complete this process, you will need a Corporate license ID. Enter the license ID when prompted, and all Users will have access to the training content up to the limit allowed by that license key.
Please contact your account manager or support@bigger-brains.com if you do not know your license ID, or do not have a license ID for a client.
Available Tab Options:
There are different views you can select when adding the app as a Tab. Below we discuss what each view features, and showcase how they appear.
BrainStation LMS View:
- This Tab displays the Bigger Brains Learning Portal, BrainStation. It features the Bigger Brains course library and any custom content created by the organization.
Full Course Catalog View:
- This Tab displays all available courses inside BrainStation. It is similar to the BrainStation view, however, instead of starting Users from the My Courses page, it will start them on the Content Library page.
Single Course View:
- This Tab displays only one selected course.
Please Note:
If you select this view, you will be prompted to pick which course will display.
Learning Path View:
- This Tab will show one Learning Path. A Learning Path is a collection of courses grouped in a specific order.
- When selected, this view will prompt you to choose an existing Learning Path or create a new one.
- Selecting Existing Learning Path will display all Learning Paths for you to choose from.
- Selecting New Learning Path will prompt you to create a Learning Path from Bigger Brains courses as well as custom created courses.
Reports:
- This Tab displays a reporting dashboard for the individual User or for the Team. Team reporting is only available for Team Assistants or Team Leaders.
Finish Creating the Tab:
- After selecting the view, you will be asked to enter a name for the Tab.
- Enter the name and choose Submit.
Please Note:
Tabs can always be renamed if needed.
