Finding Community Courses: Building a Community Course: View Community Courses:

The Community Courses tab can be found within the Content Library page. The Community Courses tab will show free public courses created by other BrainStation Users, using freely available public resources. This article will serve as an overview of the Community Content Library helping you understand how to navigate it as a User.

 

Finding Community Courses:

 

  • Open the Content Library page.
  • Select the Community Courses tab.

 

 

  • To filter available courses, use the categories listed along the left-side of the page.
  • By default, all categories are visible when first entering the Community Content Library.

 

 

  • When looking for a specific course, use the search bar available on the right-side of the page.

 

 


 

Building a Community Course:

 

Please Note:

Community courses can be created by any User in BrainStation. Courses that are approved to be added to the Community Library are visible to any Team showing the Community Courses tab in BrainStation. In order to create more advanced courses that are only available to your Team, use the CourseBuilder feature in the Team Dashboard.

 

 

  • Select Create Your Own Course.

 

 

  • This will open the Create Community Course page.

 

 

  • From here, enter a Course Name, Description, Keywords, and Course Image.
  • Select a Category that best suits the course.
  • When you are ready to continue, select Next.

 

 

  • To begin building the community course, select Add Module.

 

 

  • A pop-out box will open.
  • From here, choose the type of module you would like to add.
    • Module types include:
      • Word Documents
      • PDFs
      • PowerPoints
      • Website URLs
      • Videos

 

 

  • Add the Module Name.
  • Attach the File or upload the URL.
  • Select Add Module.

 

Please Note:

If you would like to upload a YouTube video by link, add the module as a Website. If you would like to add a Video by uploading a file, select whether the video should be Embedded in BrainStation, or if it should open in a New Window.

 

 

 

  • Once the module is added, you will be brought back to the Modules page.
  • When you are finished adding modules, select Next.

 

 

  • From here, you will be able to review the community course you have built.
  • To make changes, select Previous.
  • To submit the course for approval, select Publish.

 

Please Note:

You will receive an email letting you know whether your community course is approved or denied. Approved courses will be visible in the Community Content Library.

 

 

 

 


 

View Community Courses:

 

  • Select View My Community Courses.

 

 

  • From here, you can see all the community courses you have built.
  • If you are waiting for approval, you can see the status of your courses on this screen.
  • From here you can also View, Edit, or Delete your community courses.
